The BRK First Alert SC9120BA is a combination smoke detector and carbon monoxide alarm that typically mounts to a ceilling junction box and connects to 120V hardwired electrical power. It can be interconnected with other BRK, First Alert or American Sensors smoke and CO alarms. Up to 12 smoke alarms, and up to 6 smoke/co combination detectors can be interconnected, so all units will go off when any detector is triggered. This model features a 9V battery backup so it continues to function during temporary power outages.

The SC9120BA has replaced the SC9120A in order to provide battery backup. The SC9120BA uses the same wiring harness (plug) and mounting bracket so it's a plug and play replacement.

The SC9120BA is also a replacement for the American Sensors COS2010 which was a very popular detector used in new builds, but is no longer available. This new model is 100% compatible with mixed installations of interconnected American Sensors, First Alert and BRK wired detectors. The SC9120BA can also be used to replace American Sensors SA360 or SA379 series smoke alarms with the benefit of adding Carbon Monoxide detection which is now required by law in most jurisdictions.

Note: If you are replacing COS2010, SA360, SA379 or other older models you will need to install the new wiring harness and bracket that come in the box.
